Last February 2020, Action for Bolivia’s team landed in Santa Cruz, Bolivia to make their official presentation of the environmental organisation and activist platform. In 2019, Action for Bolivia obtained enough international coverage in media such as Channel 4, BBC, the Guardian and The Geographic magazine during their protest against the Chiquitania fires. Action for Bolivia was born with the need to build a bridge of resources between Europe and Bolivia to aid organisations and environmental projects in Bolivia. Its main intention is to enhance the work of the organisations that worked and still works against the consequences of the forest fires that affected the South-American country in 2019. The Action for Bolivia platform came to deliver all the donations made from different parts of the world, especially those received from the United Kingdom.

The event was held at the Centro Cultural Casa Melchor Pinto, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, where the hard work of the following was recognised: Volunteer firefighters UUBR, FCBC, Asociación Civil Armonía, the Indigenous Association of the Department of Santa Cruz, Senda Verde. They also confirmed their strategic alliances together with the VAMOS platform and “El llamado del Bosque”. Two organisations with which they will continue to work for environmental education and the development of environmental policies and projects.
